Want To Volunteer For The Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk? Sign Up For This Workshop

Shortcut

The 16th Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk is just 11 days away, but the organisers have made the wait easier by hosting a pre-Pride posters and accessories workshop this Sunday. Here’s how to sign up!

What Is It?

The City Of Joy {and pride!} is coming back with the 16th Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk on December 10, but before that they have something fun in store for all of us. To prep for the upcoming pride parade, the awesome peeps at Kolkata Rainbow Pride Festival will opening the doors of New Light Gallery at Jodhpur Park on December 3rd, from 1.30pm onwards for a fun session of making posters, brainstorming for slogans, drawing up stickers- creating anything and everything to express LGBTQ pride.

Who Is It For?

The workshop is open to anyone and everyone who would like to spend a wintry Sunday afternoon with a group of amazing individuals in a fun {and colourful!} creative session to prepare for the grand pride walk the next Sunday.

Why Should I Go?

If you would like to do your part in creatively contributing to our city’s very own pride parade, meet new people and create fun posters and accessories — then this workshop is definitely not something you should miss.

Anything Else?

Here’s some more good news — Kolkata Rainbow Pride Festival is also looking for people who’d like to volunteer on the day of the pride walk. Think crowd management, handing out leaflets, carrying the flags and banners. So if you’d like to not just attend the pride walk, but actively play a part in organising it, there’s a volunteers meeting on the same day and in the same venue, starting from 4pm.

All you need to do is register yourself through this form here, and attend the meeting to know how you can help. Registrations close on the midnight of December 1. Nothing like volunteering at the Kolkata Rainbow Pride Parade to kickstart the winter festivities, we say!
