What Makes It Awesome

We found a haven for sarees and fabrics in Ballygunge and definitely suggest that you drop in at this store if you’re looking for some stunning designs.

Weavers Studio stocks textiles and fabrics handcrafted by the finest artisans and craftsmen from all over the country. Their collection includes specialized fabrics, stoles, scarves, shawls, patch scrolls, art textiles, sarees, and garments. All of these are handmade by skilled artisans using different techniques of hand-block printing, screen printing, roller textures, stencils, sprays, hand paint, surface ornamentation, hand embroidery, and hand weaving with batik, shibori, kantha, appliqué, felting, and tribal embroidery work done on them.

The designs and patterns are inspired by the different seasons, historical textiles, and ethnic tribes of India. The place is your one-stop shop for fabrics - you name it and they have it. The sarees are obviously all great and beautiful but we totally loved the hand-painted co-ord sets and the woolen scarves as well. The elegant cotton jamdani and silk shibori kaftans have our heart too. They also have an impressive collection of unstitched sets, kurtas, and dupatta.

Fabrics are priced at INR 630 and upwards while the sarees start at INR 3,000.

Pro-Tip

If you’re looking for hand-stitched brocade or potli bags with patchwork done on them, Weavers Studio has a pretty nice collection comprising traditional designs. The jhola bags are great too.
