A Light Touch
Kavita Bhartia presents A Mix Of Things her AW’17 collection. Retaining her signature style, the designer {who launched the fashion mag Elle in India} has created an array of fine silhouettes experimenting with raw resham and sequins. The collection is a revival of chikan and gota work, resham-based embroidery and sequin — all executed with a modern appeal and contemporary style.
The silhouettes are essentially capes, gilets, draped dresses, tunics, with a perfect colour palette including gold, ivory, nude, grey, opal green spice colors with interesting floral motifs.
The dresses and capes are from INR 8,000 to INR 25,000. And the lehengas and shararas are for INR 45,000 to 1,50,000.

A bit about the designer Kavita Bhartia — first-off know this, she was instrumental in launching and publishing the Indian edition of the global fashion magazine and continues as the vice chairperson of Elle India. She is also the person behind Ogaan, a fashion landmark in New Delhi that was a platform to showcase works of some of the leading names in the Indian fashion industry along with her own label. Over the years, Ogaan has gained appreciation from discerning clientele all around the world and became one of the country’s premier outlets.
She launched her label in 1989 which is known for using Indian craft skills in contemporary ways to create a fun, quirky aesthetic. Her design philosophy is an amalgamation of traditional Indian craftsmanship techniques with innovative western silhouettes to create a look that is quite distinctive.
