When a restaurant opens in this city, news spreads fast. And it's spreads ever faster if it's biryani. For our mild bengali heart that loves aloo, we scour every corner of the city. However, many a restaurants have suffered because of the sans aloo counterpart which is a bold risk in a city that puts the humble potato on top but guess what? The infamous Paradise Biryani from Hyderabad took up the challenge and threw open its doors at Southern Avenue. My friend and I soon sprang at the opportunity and although we were assertive, we decided to try it out.
Here's what you should order: The Chettinad Chicken Kebabs and the Nizami Chicken Biryani are absolute keepers. The mound of biryani comes with a Mirch ka salan, Raita and salad. The salan and raita are possibly the finest bowls of goodness to be savoured along the biryani.
While you may miss your beloved 'aloo' here, its best to savour the biryani, in all its authenticity. You may want to end your meal with Double ka Meetha (stress on meetha, pls) aka shahi tukda but we found it too sweet for our palate.
PS: They're coming up with a second outlet in Park Street (next to the Bose showroom)
