What Makes It Awesome

North Sikkim's natural beauty can get anyone in a state of drunken stupor. Think perpetual snow, spine-chilling cold and nature in its purest form. Speaking of which, put Zero Point and Yumthang Valley, two of Sikkim's most popular tourist spots, on your bucket list now!

Located 23km from Lachung, Yumthang is also known as the valley of flowers (the kind you see Dev Anand romancing his heroines in). With clean air, crystal clear water bodies, and snow-clad hills, the valley is no less a spectacle than the Swiss Alps. It also has an astonishing number of Rhododendron species (over 24!)

If you are going during April or May, you will see the valley blooming with all kinds of tiny Himalayan flowers, such as the Primroses, Cinquefoils, Louseworts and Cobra-lilies. Shutterbugs, be sure to keep your cameras handy to capture breathtaking shots of the valley in full bloom.

An hour's drive more from Yumthang is Zero Point, this place is unreal to say the least. It's almost like a white blanket of snow covering a sleeping rock giant. The only thing you will miss having here (at an altitude of 15,300 feet), is a cup of piping hot tea.
