Fruity, Potent & Yum: 5 Places For Amazing Sangrias In The City

Whether you’re a wine drinker or not, you can’t hate sangria! A delicious wine cocktail made with fresh fruit/juice and {sometimes} the addition of liquor. It’s a popular drink at brunch, but also enjoyed on a night out on the town. Here are our 5 picks for where to score some super sangria in Pune.

Murphies Bar is a great place to hang out, made even more appealing by their extensive list of cocktails. We love the ‘Murphies special sangria’, made with fresh apple and peach liquor – definitely not for the faint-hearted! If you’re more of a traditionalist, they have red and white wine sangria as well. Order by the glass, or pitcher – and keep an eye out for their deals on cocktails during happy hour!

The Sassy Spoon

The Sassy Spoon’s menu is nothing short of diverse – and it doesn’t just stop at the food. They serve two kinds of sangria – with a Sassy twist, of course. Their fresh berry sangria – comes loaded with fresh berries marinated in red wine, and its counterpart – aka ‘shenny’ is made with {seasonal} fresh plum puree, hints of peach, apple, mint, and white wine. It’s hard to choose between the two, so we suggest trying both {but not at the same time!}. #LBBTip: Avail unlimited sangria at INR 599+ during their Sassiest Hours

Adda’s sangria is available in a glass, pitcher, or jar {if you’re a hipster}. Made with overnight wine-soaked fruits, and wine {of your choice: red or white} and brandy concoction – and we hear it’s a knockout! Find it under the ‘classic cocktails’ section of their menu, at both the Kothrud and Pimple Saudagar outlets.

Brazilian restaurant Boteco does a lovely, subtle {read: mature} version of sangria. Infused with peach liqueur, triple sec, and fresh cut fruit, Boteco’s sangria is made with your choice of red/white wine. You can guzzle these by the glass or pitcher {we’re partial to the latter} as you chow down on their delicious meaty grills!
