Anhaya was started by Sharwari Patil in August 2016, after her return from completing her studies at Parsons School of Design in New York {where she did a 2-year diploma in design}. Each collection is different from the next – the first one featured Indigo-dyed material sourced from Jaipur, the second one showcased Ikkat prints from Hyderabad, and her most recent {and fifth} collection will highlight textiles from Assam. Sharwari plans each collection in great detail and chooses to work with artisans who use organic textiles and dyes – keeping it as sustainable as possible.
Dresses, tops, skirts, pants, crop tops, over-throws, and kimonos are just some of the styles you’ll see in Anhaya’s repertoire – usually priced between INR 1000 – 5000. From patterns and prints to embellishments, it’s stylish enough for day-to-day wear as well as special occasions. If you’d like to commission a custom-made outfit, you can put in a request.
Currently working out of her home studio in Koregaon Park, visits are by appointment only, or you can view the collections and order through Anhaya’s Instagram or Facebook page. Sharwari can also courier the package to you if you live outside Pune.
