When you enter The Mills, the new hangout place in Pune, you can’t miss spotting huge LED sign BaoBab. I was so curious to find out the meaning of this place, before leaving the place I asked them the meaning of Baobab.
So Baobab is an Adansonia Tree commonly known as Baobab. It is the national tree of Madagascar. This tree is found in 23 countries, hence they have curated their menu with different types of dishes from those countries. On entering the place you will spot an Adansonia tree in Alfresco sitting arena.
This place is not completely theme-based, but still, I love when restaurants try to put forward a single idea and curate it with decor and cuisines.
Coming to my lunch experience, I visited this place with my Mother for Tuesday lunch. We were greeted by the team on entering, and they showed us both inside and outside seating. Since Pune weather is great during monsoon we opted to sit outside.
Mocktails:-
Cucumber Collins:- This was so refreshing if you’re afraid to try something new and u r an old school lover for Virgin Mojito or lemonade. Cucumber syrup, lime juice with mint flavour. Do try this drink, trust me you won’t regret it.
Iced Mango Colada - I guess it was kind of Mango shake in which coconut tender milk is used. My mom loved it!
Both drinks were 5/5.
Starters and Main course:-
Dal Makwan- what a fusion of nachos with Channa Dal. I loved this desi firangi twist. 5/5
Chilli paneer bao- loved the presentation of two bao”s in a wooden stand. This was the second time I was trying bao, the chilli Panner was properly coated, they will serve it with three sauces, add it according to your taste. The Panner was not so soft, more on the chewy side maybe bcoz I was taking photos and it got cold. 4/5
Quinoa Salad- This is for hardcore salad lovers this salad rich in protein with quinoa and iron with green leafy vegetables 5/5
Paneer k pass se with Garlic Naan- So far fav paneer pasanda I had in a long time. The gravy was perfectly spicy. Three portion garlic was sufficient for two persons. 5/5
Dessert:-
Two Berry Cheesecake - This dessert has my heart. It is a cold dessert with crushed nuts and creamy cheesecake. 5/5
Thanks, Team Baobab for a wonderful experience. Cheers and Boun Appetito!
