Ten-Second Takeaway

Balewadi High Street has rapidly become *the* go-to destination for foodies and drinkers on the Baner-Aundh side of town. We think it’s wonderful that a good food and bar culture has spread beyond the usual Koregaon Park scene, and it’s about time that Baner got some recognition for being cool. Here are 5 bars you must try out at Balewadi High Street.

Urban Foundry

Sporting industrial decor and a funky menu to boot, Urban Foundry is a super popular spot to grab drinks and nibbles with your friends after work. Their beer starts as cheap as INR 90 for a Kingfisher pint or a small (30ml) Old Monk during ‘Factory Prices’ {Happy Hours}. Try their Hawaiian Can, fruit punch on a stick, and Thai Mojit-a-rita if you’re into trying new things. For eats, go for the malai broccoli, thecha kebab, oink oink {bacon} naan, and tandoori tikka pizza. Happy Hours: 12pm – 6pm, Monday to Friday

Terttulia

Quite the casual-chic affair, Terttulia Bistro is a great place to have drinks and dinner with bae or your folks (maybe even both). Their Melon Sangria {INR 345} and signature TT’s Orange Basil Mojito {INR 335} are a must-try, as is the old-school Mint Julep {INR 335}. All their drinks are available by the pitcher as well {INR 1655 onwards}. Their karari roti {INR 185}, pizza {INR 325 onwards}, dips and pâté platter {INR 295}, mini quiche {INR 195} and grilled sticky chicken satay {INR 285} make for good accompanying bites. Their mains are perfectly portioned, and the desserts are divine. Happy Hours: 11am – 6:30pm

Apache High Street

The third of its name, Apache also veers towards the contemporary with their menu. Beer fans, try some of their beer cocktails {INR 650} and Apache beeritas {INR 320+} for an unconventional twist on a staple. We like the sound of their nuclear tacos {INR 160/180}, cheesetastic chicken bombs {INR 175} and banjara kebabs {INR 160/180} for bar bites. Apache are quite popular for their music and karaoke nights, so keep an eye out for their regular events. Happy Hours: 11:30am – 11:15pm from Monday to Thursday

Incognito

From their Awesome Cocktails {INR 400 onwards} to their beer towers {INR 475 onwards} and buckets {starting at INR 899}, Incognito has great deals on alcohol. Their food is also pretty amazing, and for the most part, consistent. We like their classic Moroccan charmoula grilled prawns {INR 550}, bacon and water chestnut wraps {INR 385} and pecan nut stuffed mushrooms {INR 330}. The warm wild mushroom salad {INR 355} and Malaysian laksa curry also make for a substantial meal. Try their bread and butter pudding {INR 225} for dessert, and you’ll be one happy camper. Happy Hours: 3pm – 8pm, Monday to Sunday
