Every morning, boats venture out to spot dolphins too. You can pay INR 200 per person and get on a boat to spot them, but you've got to keep your eyes pierced to the water. Ooh, you can also check into this place for stay.

Kashid Beach

Kashid, 170 kms from Pune, is a beach town on the shores of the Arabian Sea, located 30 kms from Alibaug. The beach is romantically calm and the sunsets and the sunrises are worth a million dollars. There are ample homestays and villas around. Book one and enjoy a beer while looking out at the sea from your villa's balcony.

Harihareshwar Beach

One of the lesser-known beaches of Maharashtra, Harihareshwar Beach is located in Raigad district and is 175 km away from Pune. Untapped and unpolluted, the beach is surrounded by four hills – Harihareshwar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri, and Pushpadri. It is known for its black sand and local markets where you can score all the local spices and the famous kokam sarbat (a juice made with kokum berries).

Navapur Beach

Located near Mumbai, Navapur beach is around five hours away from Pune. The significance of this beach is its naturally black sand coast that adds to the beauty of the place. Along with this, Navapur beach is also lesser-known and hence, is a very peaceful beach. To know more about Navapur Beach, click here.

Adventurous types can test their adrenaline and try out water sports like surf-boarding, banana rides, jet-ski rides, and stand-up paddleboarding.

Also, the next time you’re in Alibaug, don’t forget to check out the Kulaba Fort, Magnetic Observatory, and the Tower of St.Barbara.

Shrivardhan Beach

Virgin, clean, and with clear waters, Shrivardhan Beach is a family-friendly beach with a broad shoreline. Reaching this beach is pretty simple as ample cabs and buses are available. However, nothing beats a nice car ride via Tamhini Ghat or Bhor Ghat to the beach. The clean water and adventure activities are sure to recharge you. Be it parasailing, banana boat rides, paragliding, horse tanga rides- you can enjoy it all on the beach. We recommend you go for a buggy ride along the gorgeous coastline.

Diveagar Beach

A five and a half-hour drive from Pune and on the Konkan Coast is Diveagar. An amalgamation of greenery and clear water with white sand shining in your eyes (the perfect representation of what the Konkan Coastline has to offer), this beach is about 159 kms from Pune, and the best way to get there is by road.  A unique thing about the beach is that it is not a flat surface beach, rather, the wavy shores of the Diveagar beach along with the strong tides from the Arabian sea make it an ideal setting for sea surfing. And once you start feeling super hungry, hit up the local vendors selling snacks to fill you up after a good swim.
