Aundh is an area we all love for its bustling streets, greenery and vibrant atmosphere. No wonder, there is no dearth of shopping and eating establishments. Team LBB visited the Baner-Aundh link road and found out that so many eateries and cafes have opened up there that it has turned into a cafe gully. Take a look which cafes made it to our list.
Aundh's Cafe Gully Is Every Foodie's Dream Come True
L'Apicio
L'Apicio is a European place has a quintessential cafe-next-door feel clubbed with bright yellow doors, charming planters at the entrance, a glassy live kitchen beside the seating area, low-drop lights and a counter full of sweet treats, macaroons, pastries and more. Try the Bloody Mary spaghetti, which was made of classic Pomodoro and braised lamb shank served with minted pea risotto and sauteed courgette. Vegetarians, we recommend you try the seitan steak with a side of crispy potato fries and balsamic tomato sauce.
Indore Spices
Don't be fooled by the humble appearance of this small eatery for it is big on taste and Indori flavours. Indori Spices is known to show you a glimpse of Indore right here on Pune. They serve Indori delicacies like poha, dal bafle and many more. At just INR 70, you can also enjoy a fulfilling thali. We tried a piping hot plate of jalebis and desi-ghee gulab jamuns and they were heavenly. Sweet, rich and with loads of ghee in them, the sweets made our day.
It's Recess Time
Baner-Aundh road has a new parking spot. Except here, you can park yourself in front of It's Recess Time. Pune’s new food truck is a double-decker that offers a grab-and-go menu. Think: rolls, subs, burgers and the likes. One more thing, there is a super-adorable seating area above the double-decker bus! We found the Mexican salsa paneer roll, tequila lime chicken burger, soya barbeque sub and the freaky fish sub as interesting options to order for a first visit. There’s also soya kebab, tandoori leg and fish tandoori on the menu. They’re also serving 3 Sisters non-alcoholic beer and your regular aerated drinks for now.
Andaground
Whenever we craved for eggs, Andaground, a food truck came to our rescue. Not only it satiated our hunger under INR 200 but also exposed us to a whole new culinary world of eggs. Now it is a restaurant in Aundh and we cannot be happier. With more than 100 varieties of egg dishes, it was very difficult for us to zero in on few items. The best part is that they have retained the food truck menu along with the restaurant one. We went for the Australian fry, cheese & egg grenade as well as a green-apple mojito and had a hearty meal.
Noodle Canteen
There is an outlet of Noodle Canteen in Aundh and foodies staying in the neighborhood don't have to travel to Kalyani Nagar to enjoy yummy Asian food and the place, like others in the lane, is small, brightly lit and super cosy. Try the charcoal dim sums, spicy noodles, Korean wings, soup bowls, in-house iced teas and many more authentic dishes. The must-taste delicacy is the miso ramen soup bowl.
K
There is a hidden gem not everyone knows about and it serves authentic Korean and Japanese dishes. Visit K, a small outlet in the cafe gully to enjoy meaty soup bowls, ramen, sushi, kimchi fried rice, raw tuna bibimbab, tangsu, Japanese curry plates. Their specialty is the soup-noodles. Choose between a huge variety of udong, jajang, gan jajann, ramen, and jampong.
Soy Affair
This small outlet dishes out spicy and delicious Indo-chinese delicacies and our favourite is the butter garlic noodles. Soy Affair also has very cozy vibes, hospitable staff, efficient service and pocket-friendly menu. Other specialties include Sichuan prawns, siu mai dim sums, pan-fried garlic sauce noodles, etc.
Madras Cafe
Looking for a place to enjoy a hearty breakfast? Look no more and head to Madras Cafe to gorge on hot idli, vadas, rassam vadas, filter coffee, dosas, and other South Indian delicacies. Not just breakfast, they also serve yummy lunch and dinner options such as South Indian snack platter, Madras thali, adai dosas, set meal plate, jumbo madras thali, etc. The prices are very reasonable too.
Freshia Cold Pressed Juice Bar
We all know the benefits of drinking cold-pressed juices over regular juices. You are in for a treat because there is a hidden juice bar in Pune which exclusively serves cold-pressed juices and shakes. Head to Freshia Cold Pressed Juice Bar in Aundh and get your dose of freshness. Their juices are cold-pressed, i.e., they are made using a special kind of hydraulic press, that retains all the nutrients and makes the juice healthier compared to other juices. They also have special in-house concoctions of fruits as well as vegetables. Their menu also has some snack options.
L'Dorado
Earlier a food truck of the same name, L'Dorado soon became a cafe space in the Aundh cafe gully that serves fast food like no one else. Try the delicious wings, cheesy fries, onion rings, nachos, fried mozarella sticks, bacon bites, etc! The prices are affordable, vibes are cozy, and taste is extremely delicious.
