What Makes It Awesome

Huge-ass burgers, salads, healthy smoothies, soothing teas and much more. There's a special reason why Cafe Old School in Viman Nagar is our favourite hangout place lately.

Located a little before Konark Campus, it's easy to spot Cafe Old School. The cafe's bright appearance and walls adorning paintings of artists from the 70s to the 90s gives it an old-school American cafe vibe. The cafe has indoor as well as outdoor seating.  Even if the dominant colours for the interiors are orange and cream, it still doesn't give a lousy feel. The open kitchen allows you to see your meal getting prepared. And outdoors, suspended light bulbs give it a cozy feel by evening.

The staff is humble and knows the menu well and offer good suggestions. The cafe has decided to stay old-school with its menu too. There are options for all-day breakfast, shakes, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads, plated meals and more.

We tried their classic chicken burger. A gigantic burger, made with an in-house patty, fried egg, veggies and soft buns laden with a special in-house sauce, makes for a good meal. The burger is simple but flavoursome and is served with a small portion of fries. We also tried their baked beans on toast and this simple dish, blew our mind. The beans, which are cooked in an in-house sauce and with capsicum and tomato are flavourful and topped with cheese.

If you are on a diet and looking for an healthy option, head to Cafe Old School and try their banana and oats smoothie. This smoothie comes with a little dash of cinnamon to it and no added extra sweetness. We also tried their iced kaffe which had a generous amount of vanilla added to the coffee and was very refreshing. If you are looking for something hot, do try their black current tea. This tea fortunately wasn't very strong in its flavour and was very well-balanced.

A meal for two will set you back INR 500 and it's an apt place to take your college date to too.
