Casa De La Luna – meaning ‘House of Moon’ in Spanish – is a beautiful holiday villa, just a half hour’s drive away from Alibaug beach.

The villa is located in the quiet, bucolic village of Zirad – just next to Madhuban Farms. To get here from Pune, it’ll take you around 4-4.5hrs {around 150km or so} by road.

Casa De La Luna has its own private pool and is surrounded by landscaped gardens, 2.5 acres of mango and coconut tree orchards, and farms bearing fresh fruit and veggies. The villa itself has 5 bedrooms, and can comfortably sleep around 12 people. What we love is that the villa is beautiful and tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and the bedrooms open out onto gorgeous views and green sit-outs, so you’ll always be close to nature. There’s enough space for a group of people to hang out, while maintaining an intimate and comfortable holiday atmosphere.

You can either choose to cook your own meals, request for a local cook to be hired to cook your meals, or even take the villa’s meal package comprising of buffet-style meals. You will have to bring your own groceries if you want to DIY your meals, and carry your own bath towels and toiletries as well. There are certain house-rules that you can read here before you decide to book.

The nearby Kolaba Fort is nice if you want to do a bit of sightseeing, and a little further south are the less-touristy Akshi, Nagaon, and Kihim beaches. Though with your own private pool on the property, we don’t think you’ll be venturing out much. Soak up some sun pool-side by the day, and enjoy a BBQ under a brilliant starry sky at night!
