What Makes It Awesome?

Tucked amidst lush surroundings of tall evergreen trees, herbs and shrubs, Chef Moshe Shek’s cooking studio on wheels, is a work of art, right at the heart of Alibaug.

Pune and Mumbai-based boutique restaurant, Cafe Moshe’s have been winning our hearts for very many years with its delectable blueberry cheesecakes and those sinful gooey chocolate mud cakes. Its curator, Chef Moshe Shek’s relatably new venture, A World Away at Alibuag, is a cooking studio that looks something right out of a postcard. So, when we got chance, we decided to check it out. Our verdict? It was a treat to the eyes and the appetite!

Located at Awas village, the cooking studio comfortably sits on wheels on a rail track. The facility has a well-maintained garden of fruits, vegetables, herbs and shrubs. Naturally, most of the ingredients are procured from the quaint in-house farm.

A World Away boasts of see-through glass panes as its exteriors and the interiors are decorated to perfection with high-end cooking stations that can accommodate a little over 10 people.

The best part about these cooking classes are that they not only well planned or articulated, they are always different. Multiple cuisines and dishes are taken up to play around with.

For instance, if one class is about learning the tricks of baking breads, cakes, cookies and more, the other had coffee as the key ingredient and the fabulous recipes that got out of it. One of the classes, in fact, was about everything middle-eastern. From hummus to quinoa falafels, the dishes were made and presented to perfection. The prices over here are starting at INR 6,500 per class
