This Award-Winning Pune Hotel Is Perfect For A Romantic Staycation

Conrad on Mangaldas Road is a 5-star luxury hotel {which just completed 2 years in March}, and one of the best in the city. If their contemporary art-deco style interiors, award-winning restaurants, and world-class service aren’t enough reasons for you to visit, here are 5 more.

Sprawling Rooms

Honestly, the guest rooms at Conrad are among the largest {and comfiest} we’ve seen in the city. Choose from Deluxe, Premier, Suites, and Executive guestrooms {310 in total} for a seriously luxurious staycation. If you choose the Executive Rooms or Suites, you’ll also be able to enjoy exclusive access to Conrad’s ‘Executive Lounge’, as well as ‘complimentary Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast, tea and coffee service through the day and cocktails in the evening’. We recommend you order room service {available 24-hrs} and extra pillows {from the ‘pillow menu’} for the perfect snuggle-fest with your S.O.

Coriander Kitchen

Coriander Kitchen is Conrad’s multi-cuisine restaurant, with an award-winning Sunday Brunch. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows look out onto an outdoor water-scape and seating area, but sitting inside offers you a front-row seat to all the delicious aromas and live action. Several live counters feature different kinds of cuisine and a tall ‘Food Library’ houses shelves of carefully prepared food for the buffet. We really enjoyed the wide selection of food here – from Indian street food to South Indian, pan-Asian, Italian, and Mediterranean. This also makes it ideal for dining with family – since there’s plenty of options to satisfy everyone! Don’t miss their ‘signature’ healthy quinoa and couscous chaat, classic tomato burrata, pepperoni pizza, grilled New Zealand lamb chops, and sticky toffee-date pudding.

Koji

Koji at Conrad serves ‘the best of’ Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine. It’s a great date night destination {if you’ve got deep pockets}, and both the food and drinks here are nothing short of fancy. Go for their Chef’s signature truffle and edamame dumpling, prawn and chive dumpling with crab-meat and tobiko, wasabi prawns, and the ‘Koji Experience’ sushi platter. It’s one of the rare places in the city for good sushi, so don’t miss out! Cocktail fiends, do try some of their Asian-style cocktails and rice wine. For special occasions, they have a private dining room as well.

Zeera

Just like its predecessors, expect great things from Zeera at Conrad. Serving rich North Indian cuisine, you can either order their set menu {available in veg or non-veg} or à la carte. The Galouti kebabs here are a must-try, as is the ‘Raan-e-Zeera’, the Awadhi dum biryanis, sinfully buttery rotis and naans, and their special hand-made ice creams inspired by Indian food. We recommend trying the Madras filter coffee ice cream with milk foam, and the Kolkata meetha paan ice cream. Zeera frequently does mini food festivals, and we think they’re definitely worth visiting if you’re a fan of authentic Indian fare. Bonus points: Zeera also has a massive ‘wine wall’, and we suggest you ask your server for the perfect wine pairing to go with your meal.

The Gym, Spa & Pool

Sure, most hotels have their own gym, spa, and pool, BUT did you know that Conrad’s pool is the ‘city’s first outdoor temperature-controlled swimming pool’? And that you could sign up to be a member of their 24-hour fitness centre even if you’re not a hotel guest? Make the most of these state-of-the-art amenities, or treat yourself to a spa day at their full-service Conrad Spa. Take a break from relaxing, at Kabana – their poolside cafe, and enjoy a drink as you soak your worries away in their special whirlpool!
