Spot Fireflies & Camp By Night In Mulshi

Rivers and Ridges is organising a camping to spot the numerous fireflies that are in abundance in the jungles near Mumbai and Pune around this time of the year. The group's campsite in Mulshi is blessed with such a spot near it. So you can photography or simply be in awe of the nocturnal beetles. 

The pick is from Hotel Blue Nile at 2 PM and once you're at the campsite by evening you can enjoy a few refreshments. Post dinner, the group will hike up to the forrest at 9 PM to spot the fireflies and return to the campsite by 11.30 PM. The next day there's an optional trek to Mulshi lake where you can also swim in the safe area before heading back to the campsite. 

The campsite is surrounded by scenic views and forest. They have clean western toilets and offer home-cooked food only. Each tent accommodates three persons, or you could be assigned to the 15 person dorm too, which has two toilets. They also have four double-bed tents, but that comes at an extra cost (in addition to your booking cost) of INR 1000 per couple.

Ensure you wear comfortable clothing (we recommend pants and full-sleeved tops or t-shirts), good hiking shoes or sports shoes, one bed sheet, one litre water bottle. And, you must observe silence between 11 PM to 6 AM.
