The crystal clear water of Arthur Lake, the majestic Sahyadri ranges, a starry night and the chirping of crickets, lakeside camping over the weekend at Bhandardara is all of that within an affordable budget!

How Do I Get There?

Bhandardara is just three hours from Pune. You can either drive down or hire a cab. If you want to avail the public transport, you can take a bus to Igatpuri or Kasara and then take a shared auto rickshaw to Bhandardara.

What's So Unique About It?

Camping at Bhandardara is all about getting close to nature in the truest form. We stayed at a tent right by the lakeside, the smell of earth, the warmth of bonfire and millions of fireflies right above your head. Bhandardara is more than a travel destination, it’s an experience.

Go for a long, long walk. We recommend you explore the nearby places- Ratanwadi, Konkan Kada, Sandhan Valley. If you’re of the adventurous sorts, go for a forest trail or a trek or simply take a dip in to Lake Arthur.

Albeit whatever you do, make sure you return to the campsite by evening. Because, you really don’t want to miss the sunset!

Anything Else?

Go for a reasonable tourist package. Most of the packages come with a guide, complimentary breakfast, sightseeing and tents. There are lot of packages available online- Tripoto {INR 1,000/night} or Triphippie {INR 1,700/night} or Adventure Nation {INR 2,950 for two days}.

#LBBTip

Make sure you carry a torch and a mosquito repellent lotion. Also don’t forget to pack your sweatshirt and a thin blanket. It can get really chilly at night.
