What Makes It Awesome?

Mumbai's highly Instagrammable eatery, Grandmama's Cafe opened its doors first in Koregaon Park and Viman Nagar, and since has mushroomed into a Pune favourite hangout spot too. It looks classic and vintage as ever, with all its stand elements in place.

What won our hearts almost immediately was the quintessential Grandmama's theme from Mumbai; white-and-green exterior, a vintage Beetle at the entrance, white bricked walls adorned with pretty monsoon flowers, bird-cage ceiling lights, a pretty swing set-up near the dessert bar, Victorian mirrors, furniture decked up with sophisticated French upholstery, burst of pastel hues at every corner and so much more. In short, Koregaon Park's Grandmama's Cafe looks nothing short of a dreamy restaurant from the streets of Paris.

Talking about the food, the cafe has retained all the bestsellers from its Mumbai outlets - marshmallow lovers hot chocolate, akuri on toast, Grandmama's special pizza and salted caramel cheesecake to name a few. We recommend you must try the trash can nachos, which is basically tortilla chips piled up along with refried beans, jalapenos and bell peppers, smothered in cheese sauce, spicy salsa and sour cream. Other dishes that stood out for us were grilled basil chicken, avocado toast and extremely flavoursome, spicy paprika fondue.

A meal for two here would cost you around INR 1500 including alcohol.

What Could Be Better?

We don't want to sound greedy, but we wish more outlets open in Pune soon for people who live in the other side of the town. Hint: Baner, Aundh, FC Road and so on...

Pro-Tip

Grandmama's Cafe in Pune started off with only one location but now has two; one in Koregaon Park and the other in Viman Nagar. Both the outlets are functional all days of the week. The KP outlet is open from 9:00 am to 12: 00 pm whereas the Viman one is open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Some unique dishes to try from the menu are the Cyprus citrus, salad in a jar and gambas al ajillo, a Spanish delicacy made of garlic prawns, olive oil, chilli and basil.
