Shimpla is the homegrown brand and the newest addition in Karve Nagar, which specialises in seafood dishes. They serve some amazing thalis, where the food is prepared all fresh for you and hence it takes a bit time cause considering they don't compromise on health and hygiene.
Methods for grinding spices for modern households commonly include electric mixer/grinder, but here they blend the wet ingredients or spices on a traditional grinding stone, which influences the taste of the seafood dishes made here.
What Foodiesoulmates hogged on-
We ordered 2 Thalis:
1. Pomfret Thali- It comprised of 1 Pomfret Fry, curry, rice, sukat chutney, bhakri/chapati, solkadi and salad. Pomfret was very well fried and it was very flavoursome. Curry was made in the blend of spices and had a very homely taste. Solkadi after a meal was so comforting. Do give it try!
2. Prawns Thali- It comprised of 5 prawns fry, prawns curry, rice, chapati/bhakri, sukat chutney, solkadi and salad. Prawns were fried and had crispy texture to it. Even curry was delish and had malvani flavour to it.
Overall we had a delightful experience here. One must visit this place for some amazing seafood delicacies.
