From the newly opened to a more popular haunt – we’ve got you covered for the 6 most Insta-worthy cafes in Pune. Have you been to them all? Have a look.

Karlo Art Kitchen & Cafe

Unfortunately, when some of us hear the words vegetarian and healthy together, we imagine a meal that probably isn't very exciting. However, changing that for you is Karlo Art Kitchen and Cafe, an Insta-worthy eatery in Deccan Gymkhana. Lots of sunshine, yellow and blue walls, tiny rooms to allow privacy, a large outdoor section and a cute balcony with lots of greenery is what Karlo promises you in terms of ambience. We went there for a meal and while we had a super large meal, our favourites were the roasted garlic soup, bakarwadi chaat, the bella pasta, eggplant roll-ups and the magic mushrooms. What stole our heart was the motichoor cheesecake, a perfect dessert for those that don't like it too sweet!

Cafe Pondi

Cafe Pondi is located in a leafy by-lane of Kalyani Nagar, just around the corner from Jogger’s Park. Their ochre-coloured entryway with fuchsia bougainvillaea flowers arching over a black-and-white wood swinging gate is an instant eye-catcher. Step into their warmly lit al fresco eatery, and it’s almost like you’ve stepped into someone’s bungalow in Pondicherry. Their colonial-style decor features beautiful old furniture, with ochre and mustard-toned furnishings, and the occasional bright pops of blue, pale green, brown, and white. Even their brass and ceramic table-ware make for a great photo-op! We love their big jhoola (swing) bench and the fact that there are so many plants and trees dotting the seating area. We like their mixed veg paniyaram, murukku ‘nachos’, and kaffir limeade. Follow them on Facebook for all their latest happenings.

Mamagoto

Mamagoto is a ‘fusion Pan Asian café’, newly opened on the second floor at Pavillion Mall, Senapati Bapat Road. We love their kitschy, pop-art ‘Mamagoto’ themed decor which plays out in different ways at all their restaurants across the country. Bright colours, contemporary-style Oriental street art on the walls, framed prints suspended from the ceiling, modern chinoiserie decor and quirky furniture make it ideal for the ‘gram. And their food is pretty (and delicious) to boot!

Baraza Bar & Bites

Beachy-themed Baraza is a great place to hit up when you want a change of scene. Their head mixologist, Pranav Mody {also of The Sassy Spoon} is a magician when it comes to potent potions. We love his version of the classic Lond Island Ice tea – the ‘Big Daddy LIIT’ with a citrus twist, and the flavoured beers – particularly the coffee beer, infused with espresso and hints of vanilla. Craft beer from Effingut and Independence Brewing Co. is available here as well. Order off their appetizers menu, and try their ladi pav sliders – they’re delish.

The Sassy Spoon

Mumbai's The Sassy Spoon is quite popular in Pune. The ambience of this place is lively, and the location is easily accessible. Oh, and the lip-smacking food and cocktails are to die for. Do try their Japanese Battered Prawns, wings, and desserts- which include their special chocolaty delicacies and creamy treats.

Where Else Cafe

The perfect place to hang out with friends after college {or even before for that matter}. The decor is really bright and colourful and adds to the vibe of the place. Where Else cafe’s special hot chocolate is to die for. Once you have it, it’s going to make sure you come back for seconds, without a doubt. The banana blondie shake is made of bananas and white chocolate and is pretty amazing too. Their salads, especially the beetroot & feta salad, are quite nice.
