I'm a non-vegetarian and was very skeptical about Veg restaurant. I've been a regular in the other Kalinga so decided to give this place a try.
I entered the restaurant and played safe and ordered Blue Bay Iced tea- a cocktail. Really loved it. For food, I asked the captain for their specialties. Taking his advice we ordered Thai Banana Leaf wrap from their appetizers along with Piri Piri Arbi Tuk as my friend had never tried arbi. A read dal pakwan in the menu so ordered that too. The banana leaf wrap was a packaged surprise for me as it tasted so amazing.
The arbi tuk was fried until it achieved crispy crust which complimented well with the piri-piri spice.
We had a chance to meet the owner she suggested us their tender coconut and corn soup. The soup was unlike something I've ever had. It was really subtle and mild. All the natural flavors were nicely maintained.
After having all these delicious dishes I was more eager on trying their main course. As we were partially full we decided to try Burmese Kaukswe. It was served with stir-fried noodles and creamy curry. After putting in all the sides i.e. toppings it tasted even better. The curry was addictively so good.
After having so many dishes we were really falling in love with the vegetarian food here.
A meal is incomplete without a dessert hence ordered Kulfi Falooda. Its was as amazing as all the other dishes we tried. It was very creamy and perfectly sweetened. I have grown fond of this place and all the food. I was prejudiced before entering the restaurant but left with an open mind about vegetarian food.
Overall the experience at this place was a solid 10/10. Everyone is the staff including the owner was very welcoming and were happy to suggest something different from the menu. I'm sure I will visit this place super soon.
