Hungry & Broke? 5 Street Eats In Koregaon Park That Are Just What Your Stomach {& Wallet} Need

No doubt that Koregaon Park is a foodie’s paradise- from high-end dining to the smallest cart on the street corner, there’s something for everyone here. In fact, Lane 6 in Koregaon Park has turned into a veritable ‘chowpatty’, with an option to satiate every kind of craving. Here are 5 of our most favourite joints to grab street food at in Koregaon Park, especially when we’re broke.

Raj Dabeli Center

Raj Dabeli has been a favourite of dabeli fans for over a decade now – and the only thing that’s changed are their prices {by just a bit} and the amount of cheese they put in each delicious cheese dabeli {by a lot}. We love the paos that are stuffed with a sweet-spicy filling; tempered on a flat stove until crispy, and then doused generously with tamarind chutney and sev. It’s lip-smacking! The cheese dabeli here is our go-to for when hunger strikes {INR 25}, but if you’re a traditionalist at heart, their ‘sadha’ {plain} dabeli {INR 15} is pretty good, too.

Classic Pani Puri

Located just in front of Mad Over Donuts on North Main Road, this pani-puri joint is one of the most popular ones in the area. They also serve a variety of other chaat specials such as ragda pattis, samosa chaat, sev puri and bhel; AND even quirkier versions like dahi bhel, cheese sev puri, cheese bhel, etc. Though we weren’t hungry enough to try them, we trust our friends who have. The pani puri {INR 20} is our tried and tested favourite, served with warm ragda, sweet chutney, just-right spicy pani, and the best masala-puri when you’re done. #LBBTip: They also do larger orders and party catering, and you can contact them at 9767725219/9922648563 for details.

Sandwich Express

Once just a humble sandwich-stall, Sandwich Express was born out of a need to cater to a large audience. Their popularity is so immense, that they still maintain their original sandwich cart {Sandwich Exp. just outside Mad-Over-Donuts} on North Main Road! Go for their delicious Bombay masala grilled sandwich, cheese chili garlic grilled sandwich, and layered club sandwich. If you’re craving something sweet, try their chocolate toast – it’s a chocoholic’s dream, and very tasty. They also serve a small selection of pizzas, burgers, and beverages {iced tea, fruit shakes, juice, mocktails, hot coffee, and tea}.

Momo's Corner

Also from humble beginnings, Momo’s Corrner is probably the most popular spot for momos in all of Koregaon Park. They still maintain their little table-top stall {outside Wagaskar Garden}, but now have an eatery just a few meters away. From steamed, to fried, and even tandoori momos – you’ve gotta try them all! Check out all the details here. Bonus points: they also have a fresh fruit and juice vendor on-site, to supplement your munchies with a healthy drink. Bon appétit!

Street Meat Cafe

Since May 2016, Street Meat Cafe has been dishing out some of the most innovative global-style street food we’ve ever seen {or eaten}. Their Thai chicken gol-gappas are nothing short of iconic. Chef Nikhil’s twist on the desi pani-puri is crazy-delicious too. Served DIY style, a combination of chicken mince {cooked in a Thai-spiced coconut curry} filling topped with tamarind-sweet chili ‘pani’ and their in-house hot sauce in crispy puris – what’s not to love? Trust us – you won’t be able to stop at just one! Also on the menu are soft-shell tacos, loaded waffles, and another inventive dessert: the ‘Bru-nut’ {a brun pao stuffed with sweet filling, deep-fried and sugar-dusted to perfection}.

#LBBTip: Get 3 for 2 tacos on Tuesdays, 20% off on waffles on Wednesdays, and their famous Thai chicken gol-gappas for just INR 100 on Thursdays! They also offer home delivery.
