The Flour Works in Kalyani Nagar has been around for over five years and is a popular cafe and bakery known for its breakfast menu and relaxed Sunday brunches.
It offers comfortable seating with an option of both indoor and a cozy outdoor. The service here is good and this is a great place to catch up with friends and family and have a good time chatting and exploring their European cuisine while sipping some wine or beer. But hidden inside this interesting menu is Pune's best hot chocolate. No visit of mine to this cafe is ever complete without ordering the thick hot chocolate.
In most restaurants, one is offered a drink full of hot milk with some chocolate powder thrown in, that is passed on as hot chocolate. But here at The Flour Works, when you order a hot chocolate, you are served just that. A cup full of thick hot chocolate without the usual overdose of milk.
The hot chocolate here comes in four variants, classic, rose, orange and a spiced. My personal favourite is the orange hot chocolate. It is thick, heavenly and will definitely uplift your mood with just the first sip. Priced at around INR 125 it is a drink that is perfect for any weather but is extra special on a dull rainy evening or any winter day.
Whatever you may eat here, I'd suggest you keep some space in your tummy for this out of the world hot chocolate.
