What Makes It Awesome?
Started in 2012 by marine engineer-turned-Chef Siddharth Mahadik, Le Plaisir was the dark horse bistro on FC Road. After having trained at Le Cordon Bleu and worked at restaurants in Sydney, he then decided to come back and open his own eatery. Serving gorgeous French and Continental food, Le Plaisir soon won over an entirely new audience of dedicated fans. So much so, that since they moved to a new (and substantially larger) space on Prabhat Road, there’s almost always a line out the door and a wait-list for seating.
Suspended blackboards over their billing counter feature an all-day menu, as well as dishes for lunch (12pm to 3pm) and dinner (6pm to 9:45pm). From all-day breakfast muffins (stuffed with a variety of omelettes/meats/veggies), to hot soups, crunchy-fresh salads, small and big plates, pasta and risottos, hot & cold beverages and decadent desserts – Le Plaisir serves gorgeous food for every mood.
Try their roast chicken and iceberg salad with kaffir lime dressing and Grana Padano (INR 350), harissa grilled-chicken with mash and assorted veggies (INR 300), pan-fried gnocchi in pumpkin puree with sweet potato crisps and herbs (INR 450) and olive-oil poached rawas with eggplant puree and a green olive salad (INR 450). And, don't forget to save room for their signature espresso pannacotta (INR 250), French toast with orange, pear, maple syrup and mascarpone (INR 300), and macarons. Food portions here are generous and worth every penny. If you’re unsure about what to eat or would like to know more about a dish, don’t hesitate to ask their warm and friendly staff.
