Cafe Goodluck
Puneites love Goodluck for it's perfect cup of Irani chai. There are two versions of this tea. The one without milk is served with a tea bag, a slice of lemon and sugar while the regular chai has milk in it. It is arguably the oldest café in Pune, and is usually crowded most of the times. It stands on the Goodluck Chowk, on the FC Road. An Irani café, it passes the real test hands down. The Caramel Pudding they serve along with Bun Maska and Irani Tea, has become a cult dish at the joint.
Tukaram Mahadik's Tea Stall
Even though there are various tea stalls lined up in this lane, the Tukaram Mahadik’s Tea Stall is quite popular. The tea is made by boiling water, tulsi leaves and tea powder, after which half a lemon is squeezed in it. The tea is served with a lemon tree leaf, which gives it a lemony taste. Along with it, add vada pav to not miss out on the authenticity !
Trupti Tea Centre
The Mara-mari chai is a mix of one glass of special tea and another of regular tea. The special taste and better quantity makes it a favourite among college students. Successfully lasting for more than five decades , this place has an old charm of its own and is a popular hit among students and attracts the youth.
Dave Tea
Peths and pune are synonymous and as old as these peths are, so is this tiny chai stall at navi peth. Dave tea guarentees happiness in that hot cup of ‘doodh chai’ , popularly favourite in that area. As strong as it gets, people are coming here for more than 50 years, just for the sip of kadak chai and bun maska.
Kohinoor
Established more than five decades ago, this place is the ultimate stop for everyone in the camp area. Paired with a bread and omelette, this place promises you a hearty meal without burning holes in your pocket. The tea is made fresh, so is the food and they avoid storing it in a flask.
