Mamagoto is an 8-year old ‘fusion Pan Asian café’, with a casual-cool vibe, and fun, quirky decor. Originally started in Delhi, they now have over a dozen eateries across India – the latest one being their Pune outlet, which opens at The Pavillion Mall on April 18.

Mamagoto at The Pavilion has two uniquely designed areas for dining. One being a colonial-style al-fresco patio featuring an ‘antique Asian elements’, and the other an indoor space with their typical ‘Mamagoto’ themed decor – bright colours, contemporary-style Oriental street art and imagery, and quirky furniture.
Both the food and drinks at Mamagoto are a blend of traditional and modern Asian cuisine, inspired by their team’s travels. Don’t expect “authentic” food – but what you can look forward to, is trying new and inventive dishes, with familiar flavours.
Go for their ebi tempura roll, Katsu chicken roll, and hot basil chicken cups, to start with. For more substantial eats, try their ‘teriyaki meal in a bowl’ and ‘The Laksa Tribute’ {their take on the famous Malay laksa}. Hard-core meat lovers can order their ‘smoky BBQ pork belly bowl’, and the ‘Mamagoto Goreng’. We were intrigued by their new ‘Thai Phucka bites’, which we look forward to trying out soon. End your meal on an indulgent note, with their home-made coconut and palm sugar ice cream, or the seasonal ‘sticky rice with mango’.
While Mamagoto awaits their liquor license, you can quench your thirst with fresh summery mocktails, like a cranberry and kaffir lime punch, passion fruit and orange cooler, or their more punchy ‘Wasabi Mary’. They also have a variety of teas, iced teas, juices and aerated beverages for you to choose from.
Anything Else?
Members of our LBB Pune Team have enjoyed meals at Mamagoto’s Vasant Kunj {Delhi}, and Hill Road {Mumbai} outlets previously, and we’re quite excited for them to *finally* open their first Pune outlet as well. Some of our favourites include their crispy lotus stem, rock shrimp tempura, ‘traditional Peking dumpling’ and the ‘old school gyoza’. Get ready for some kickass Asian food.
