What Makes It Awesome

Weekends are the best time to experiment with new and interesting things. Talking about interesting experiences, we found a home kitchen in Pune that delivers authentic Maharashtrian meals. The cherry on the cake is that they deliver it on a traditional banana leaf! Dial-up Pangat Pune that aims to give you the ultimate 'pangat' (Marathi term for a sit-down traditional meal) experience.

Started by Meena Paranjape and Jayesh Paranjape, a mother-son duo, Pangat is a weekend delivery kitchen that dishes out authentic Marathi delicacies for foodies such as tomato saar, batata bhaji, alu wadi, bharli vange, katachi amti, ukadiche modak, masale bhat, pithla, panchamrut, kothimbir wadi, thecha, valachi usal and a lot more. Most of these items are popularly consumed during festivals and special occasions.

They have different menus for all three days. On Friday, they deliver the Gavran thali while on Saturday and Sunday, they serve their signature puran poli mejwani thali and modak mejwan thali respectively. Prices start at INR 280. Along with the neatly-packed food, they also provide a little leaflet that instructs how to plate these items on a banana leaf in a traditional manner and a small gratitude prayer. On Saturday and Sunday, Pangat also delivers mini thalis with six items for INR 200 only.

Pangat also has the option to customise the menu for 10 or more people. Since everything is made fresh, you must call them in advance (a 1-day notice minimum). Give them a call or WhatsApp them to place your order and receive delicious authentic festive food right anywhere in Pune (delivery charges apply, of course).

Pro-Tip

Even though it's a weekend kitchen, they can deliver on weekdays if you order 5 or more thalis. You can choose from the weekend menu itself.
