I am an old-school soul. Naturally, I am drawn towards quaint places that are hidden in the city. I stumbled upon one such heritage bungalow in Camp that has been converted into a resto-bar. Initially a dive bar of the 80s, the bungalow has been revived into Mazdana, a place full of stories, memories and lip-smacking food.
The bungalow has been modified into a cozy resto-lounge with minimal touches and work. You can sit indoors which is a dimly lit tavern with wooden setting. While the outdoors are green and rustic. Whether it's a reunion or a get together with friends and family, you can enjoy at Mazdana without burning a hole in your pocket.
Talking about food, you can enjoy amazing drinks and beverages. They also have offers on specific days where you can enjoy the alcohol at MRP rates. Walk down the memory lane and enjoy ice-cream floats coming in different flavours for just INR 149. I tried the raspberry one and the kid in me was happier than ever. Other than that, relive good old days by sipping on the Ardeshir's sodas. Not to mention, the side plate of crispy fried okra that makes for yummy munchies.
The menu is not very elaborate but encompasses dishes from many cuisines. From starters like wings, cajun chicken popcorn to spicy cheese cigars to mains like prawns in lemon butter sauce, oriental veggies in sauces or mac and cheese - the taste is absolutely delicious. Their butter chicken is just the way I like it - thick, orange and sweet but with a spicy aftertaste. After eating the munchies and sipping on floats, I jumped to the mains and relished on butter chicken. Along with that, I also enjoyed chicken kala rassa with steamed rice. The gravy was spicy, authentic and absolutely delicious.
