Started in the year, 2014 in Pune as an extension to the Bangalore based collaborative – MIST by Shyam Konnur is an LGBTQ+ collective with a vision to make India a more inclusive society.
In order to provide a safe and a non-judgmental environment, which is acceptable towards LGBTQ+ community, MIST organises one-of-a-kind parties, which are open to everyone irrespective of their sexual orientation. These parties always revolve around some unique themes every time. The best part is that all the parties take you to various locations across Pune. So you'll also get to explore new places around the town with them.
All the parties and events conducted by MIST have the necessary permissions/orders, which makes sure of an absolute risk-free environment for their guests.
Apart from organising parties, MIST also undertakes various initiatives in Pune such as, QTAM (Queer Talks and Meets), QAAF (Queer Allies and Arts Festival), PIQFF (Pune International Queer Film Festival) and an online pride store, Queer Bazaar. The collective works on the philosophy of creating a family for the LGBTQ+ community and specially for those who had to leave their families because of certain reasons. MIST's entire team is very amicable to all the members of their community. Whether you are a regular to their meetings and events or you are there for the first time, the entire team will always try their best to help you out.
