What Makes It Awesome

Are you craving for some home-style Chinese and oriental dishes? Paper Lantern in Gaikwad Road, Aundh has opened its doors and serves homely Pan-Asian dishes, such as noodles, rice, dim sum and veg and non-veg mains.

The tiny cafe has adorable decor with a lot of planters and wooden furniture. The seating is mainly outdoor with a few tables inside. The menu is not so elaborate but covers pretty much all the basics.

For starters, you can choose between a variety of dim sum, satays and spring rolls. For mains, we tried the fragrant rice in mushroom with sliced chicken in black bean sauce. While the rice was aromatic and delicious, the black bean sauce could have been better.

The menu has options of proteins with a number of sauces such as schezwan, teriyaki, black bean, hunan and more. We suggest you try the pan-tossed noodles and chicken dim sum that make up for a perfect meal for two.

The staff is very cordial and warm and will serve you desserts such as honey noodles, chocolate rolls and more. We like the fact that you can savour all this without burning a hole in your pocket. A meal for two will cost you between INR 400 to INR 500.

What Could Be Better

It's summer and there was no lemonade, soda, soft drink or any beverage on the menu. We think a few drinks will complete the dining experience.
