Persepolis, according to us, is a one-of-a-kind eatery in Pune, both in terms of food and ambience. The red exterior of the restaurant somewhat depicts Achaemenid architecture with tall arched entrances and an open rooftop. There is an outdoor setting too, with beautiful cream-and-pink decor, plush furniture, cute cutlery and potted plants on the side.
The food at Persepolis is an interesting mix of Persian, Lebanese, Moroccan and Turkish cuisines. The breakfast menu features everything from Zafferani oats with almond milk to Casablanca eggs, Peshawari bheja fry and Arabic masala omelette. The spread goes perfectly well with a cup of either date and cardamom latte or Turkish hot chocolate.
We particularly loved their Moroccan chicken berber and savory minced lamb boreks. For the main course, you must-try the Tabrizi chicken meatballs and prawns salalah served with khamiri naan. End your meal with their creamy caramelized Kunafah cheesecake, baked to perfection with shredded phyllo, sugar syrup and cream cheese.
Anything Else?
Every beer cocktail at Persepolis gets a delightful Moroccan twist. We recommend you try the malted orangeade, made with whiskey, beer, orange and rosemary with a tinge of gingery aftertaste.
