On the busy streets of Pune’s favourite shopping destination, M.G. Road Camp, we found an all-in-one store.The Poona Craft Stores has a beautiful collection of Indian handicrafts starting at INR 100 only. We found over 20 items that were handcrafted and came from across the country.
A hidden gem in it’s true sense, Poona Craft Stores is a two-storied store that houses collectibles from across the country. The ground floor has over three sections. The first section offers wood and marble artefacts. The second section showcases kurtis and shawls. The first floor has numerous beautiful wood carvings and paintings. And, they also have handwoven Kashmiri rugs and carpets.
We found small keepsake boxes starting at INR 100. These boxes had intricate and elaborate designs hand painted on them. They also have candle stands, wooden boxes, statues, figurines of animals, incense stick holders and many other commodities. Their wooden collection starts at INR 500.
What really caught our eye, were elephants made out of jade, available mostly in green and red. These elephants were also available in different sizes. The smallest figurine was priced at INR 2000.
From the store's kurti and dress collection, you'll find something in all possible shades of pastel. These kurtis have traditional chikankari work on them. We also found that they had kaftans, hand-embroidered shawls and many other such things for women. These garments started at INR 500. The prices will vary as per the design and its sourcing. The store also has a few collectible sarees with traditional Indian embroidery work.
Poona Crafts also has silver jewellery. You can find delicate earrings, toe rings, bracelets and other jewellery for daily wear. The store also had tribal jewellery. We found tribal necklaces and pendants, starting at INR 100.
