Kolad

A small village located in Raigad district, Kolad is 3hrs away from Pune and is a popular adventure destination for those in Mumbai and Pune. It’s situated on the banks of the Kundalika river, which after monsoons swells up to provide for the best spot for river rafting! The full flow of the river is best enjoyed after monsoons, between June and November. This is a 15km long river rafting experience near Pune that comes highly recommended.

Dandeli

Located in Karnataka, Dandeli is only 450km away from Pune and a popular long weekend destination. Adventure junkies love Dandeli for the adrenaline rush that it provides with its treks, kayaking, canoeing and river rafting. 13kms of river rafting make this a highly recommended activity to indulge in for every adventure and nature lover. Dandeli is also well connected to Pune by rail.

Savarkut

This is one of the lesser known river rafting destinations around Pune, and lies 210kms away from the city. The river is controlled by a dam, and the river receives water twice a day which makes it possible for people to enjoy two batches of river rafting! The river rafting lasts for 11km, and the starting point is Savarkut village, a tiny settlement at the banks of Vaitarna river. 

Kharawade

This tiny village lies in Mulshi, and is easily reachable within 2hours from Pune. The Mutha river flows past, and river rafting is a popular activity that adventure lovers indulge in here. A weekend getaway here can be spent experiencing this 7km river rafting through a beautiful jungle.
