Along Bibvewadi’s Kondhwa road, you’ll spot many boutiques inside Lighthouse Mall. And, many food stalls too. And while you couldn’t care any less about shopping when you’re broke, you do still get hungry. Salty Bites is a small stall on the outside of the complex where you should go when you can’t afford to spend more than INR 100.
The stall offers your usual junk suspects. They have everything from bun maska and dabeli, to frankies, pasta, burgers, tornados, waffles (opt for half a portion that’s under INR 100) and a variety of juices. If you’re with friends, you can opt for one of their combos. In INR 210, you can get a classic veg pizza, cheese maggi, french fries, two cheese garlic bread and two coke beverages. And, in INR 310, get two pizzas, a maggi, fries, nachos, garlic bread for three and three beverages. We don’t know anything that could get cheaper!
We loved their twisty potato. For a space as small as a hole in the wall, they’re doing a great job at getting out a flavour-packed potato tornado from the fryer. Their cheese frankie that wraps up spicy bhaji and cheese isn’t a bad bet either. You could eat your fill here and still have some money left in your pocket.
A meal for one would easily cost less than INR 100. We’re definitely keeping this place in mind for anytime we’re broke and craving for a burger that doesn’t burn a hole in our pocket. Next time you’re on Kondhwa road, you know where to get some cheap grub.
