I was in the bewilderment when I heard the word shubh vivah for the first time ,well when it comes to courtyard Marriott one can expect the unexpected. They have organized shubh vivah fest from 15th -21st July which includes the delicacies of 7different state. The notion revolves around the significance of every single fera will depict the delicacy of one state. Thus no brownie points for guessing it 7 feras will depict 7 different states :p
Th entrance itself gave the vibes of shadi culture. The minute detailing of interiors to the colorful outfits donned by the staff added to the vibes of the festival. The shehnai in the background and the lying area with a flower vase on the table transported me to an actual marriage scene.
As I inched close to the restaurant I saw the traditional cuisine on the right-hand side while western cuisine on the left .
I am kind of a person that whenever I go to any marriage function, chat has to be my first thing and I guess what I didnnt break the tradition this time as well :p. Honestly chat was the surprising element for me I dont expect any 5 restaurants to be a star perfomer in this section as they usually blend the spices here the story was entirely different not only the chats were flavourful but also the most likable section . we couldnt stop ourself from gobbling it .
Chat included Pani puri , papdi chat , aloo ragda tikki and samosa chat .
Pani Puri - This is something which I love the most and when you love something it just needs to be perfect and they made a place in my heart as it was too good. The balance of khatta metha pani was perfect and the pinch of coriander, onion , tomato and sev it made it a star in the category .
Papdi Chat; It was an assortment of curd , coriander, onion, tomatoes, sev and taramind sauce on the papdi which made it so flavourful.
Aloo tikki and Samosa chat - Ragda chat is quite popular in Maharashtra . It is a white peas curry mixed with finely tomatoes , potatos and chopped onions with topping of sev .The ragda recipe was mixed with aloo chat and samosa which created magic .
After having chats , I moved to western cuisine.
They had a wide range of Mexican and Italian food which included pastas, jalapeno potatoes, crispy and baby corn and hustle potatoes with various salsas .
They had lot many options in salads as well. Beetroot salad with walnut and pineapple were my favourite amongst all.
After a while i moved for the much waited traditional cuisine of 7states .
They covered the cuisine from Kashmir to Karnataka.
Dal makhani from Punjab ,
Dal batti churma and gatta from Rajasthan ,
Vangachi bharit from Mahasrashtra ,
Undio from Gujarat,
Galouti from Lucknow,
Malabar paratha and vegetable stew from Southindia .They had it all and managed to bring the authentic taste of various state to Pune.
Thats not enough I loved the spread of the dessert from Indian sweets to pastries .
They made sure we leave the place on a happy note.
