Gourmet dining has always been fascinating and when that food is healthy, it's a whole new culinary journey. We found a place where you can enjoy food that is great in taste and is also loaded with nutrition. Sorted Delicatessen in Kalyani Nagar is all about gourmet healthy dining.
Delicatessen essentially means a place where one can eat as well as buy ingredients. That's what Girish Monie, owner of this deli wanted. After a lot of research, they came up with a menu and created their own unique recipes without compromising with the taste.
While you can cherish the fact that everything you eat here is freshly made in-house (even the core ingredients), you can also buy these wellness products too. From tortilla wraps, chips made of nachni, ragi; different kinds of fresh breads, pastas, cheese and even vegan cheese. Other than that, you can also find fresh fruit jams and spreads.
The decor is zen. The big laughing Buddha statue with a tiny wishing well at the entrance is simply endearing. Green and sustainable, everything including the props has a vintage rustic charm to it. You can choose to sit indoors or enjoy outdoors as well.
You can enjoy breakfast here as it opens at 7 am. However, they serve breakfast dishes all day long. We started our meal with a nice berry smoothie bowl and shakshuka. The pretty bowl was an assortment of nuts, fruits and smoothie and was simply fulfilling. The shakshuka was a bit on the tangy side and tasted good with the in-house sourdough. We also tasted their beetroot concoction which was very refreshing.
Another favourite dish is quinoa upma which is laden with ghee and veggies. Love pizza? Now you can indulge guilt-free here as they make their base with cauliflower. Technically, the pizza is a salad turned into a delicacy.
We went on to try their amazing healthy wraps. Their falafel wrap is all three things: healthy, tasty and absolutely picture-perfect. If you think butter chicken is unhealthy, do not miss their version. Their signature butter chicken takes the final trophy as it is full of veggies (we suggest you figure it out yourselves!). We had it with carrot roti and buckwheat roti.
Lastly, we dug into their classic New York Cheesecake and a slice of spice cake. Both the desserts were super soft, and rich in flavours. I loved the cheesecake more but if you love Christmassy spices, the spice cake is for you. A meal will cost you somewhat between INR 1000-INR 1500 but you can be rest assured about the quality and service.
Make a note that you can get these goodies delivered across Pune. Whether it is dining or buying goodies, this deli has set the bar quite high.
