What Makes It Awesome?
Looking to shop for accessories but don’t want to spend big, then Mahalaxmi Novelty has some or the other design for every earring need.
We loved the jhumka collection here. Wearing jhumkas never goes out of style, so much so that we even love pairing them with western outfits. They give a desi quirky edge to your whole outfit. They’re available in all sizes. Right from plain oxidised ones that are much smaller to larger ones with beads of different colours hanging at the edge. You can get the smaller jhumkas starting at INR 50 a pair and they go up to INR 150 depending on what design and size you pick.
Next, we’d definitely recommend the long drop jhumkas. They usually start off with a stud and some will rest just above your shoulder. These are super trendy at the moment and will easily elevate a simple salwaar-kameez too. Their price starts at INR 150 and there a few designs to choose from.
The store also has a stock of the feather and long tassel earrings and some are even designed like dream-catchers. Starting at INR at INR 60, these will pair well with your western outfits. We liked a pair of hooped earrings too, except they stood out because it wasn’t an average hoop and instead had a patterned circle. The pair was priced at INR 100. And, since hoops are in too, we’d definitely pick the large hoop, complete with a jhumka hanging off it. It’s elaborate, dramatic and perfect to wear at your friend’s wedding or a traditional occasion.
For those who don’t like things dangling off their ears. There are multiple studs to choose from. But our favourite was a triangular pair for INR 30 in pastel blue, pink and yellow hues.
What Could Be Better?
While this store is earring heaven, we would have loved to see a better collection of necklaces here too. But, it was quite average.
Pro-Tip
Pick up pairs that would look great on Indian and western casuals. That way you’re definitely stopping yourself from buying too many earrings for the season.
