What Makes It Awesome?

A gym, a salon and a tattoo parlour - Studio FM in Baner is all these things. In a nutshell, it's a one-stop destination for a full head-to-toe makeover. Started in 2009 under a different name, Studio FM was officially launched in 2015 by Vishakha Gaikwad. A trained hairstylist and professional dancer/choreographer herself, she wanted to open a first-of-its-kind fitness and glamour studio in Pune.

Forget the gym and sign up for one of their dance-fitness classes starting at INR 700 per month with their team of choreographers, and take your pick from Bollywood, Lavani, freestyle, contemporary, belly dance, hip-hop, the cha-cha, or a HIIT workout. From age 3 to 70, Vishakha says there’s a class for everyone. If you have kids and are looking for recreational activity for them, enrol them in kids-special batch.

For mothers with kids, there are classes for both of you to participate in simultaneously. They also offer long-term training to competitive dance students, but if you just want to try a class out, or are looking for a one-off session to refresh your skills, they do have ‘drop-in classes’ on occasion.

Pamper yourself at Studio FM’s salon where they offer premium hair styling (for men and women) and salon and skin treatments for women only. If you love make-up, Studio FM hosts their own make-up workshops which will teach you how to update your look, and keep it fresh. For the more edgy clientele, Studio FM also houses a tattoo parlour, with skilled tattoo artists from Mumbai. Specialising in customised tattoos, visits to the tattoo parlour are through appointment only. There’s even a cute cafe on-site, where we stopped at for some refreshments.

Pro-Tip

If you or someone you know is getting married soon, you should know that Studio FM offers a full wedding plan: from bridal makeup to choreography and costumes. For those with no time to squeeze in sangeet dance training during the day, Vishakha says that after-hours classes can be arranged for, between 11 pm to 3 am at people’s residences. The team will travel to you, and ensure that everyone’s dance moves are perfectly synchronised in time for the wedding!
