Drop by at Gatwick to check out their range of swimwear and found some really cute bikinis and tankinis. Halter, cut-away, high-waist, embellished, bandeau, string – they have it all, in bright solid colours as well as pretty patterned prints. Priced between INR 1500 – 1850, take your pick for a day at the pool!
You can’t go wrong with cotton ethnic wear, ever. We stumbled onto Ramgir Textorium in Wonderland and were quite impressed with their selection and prints. We liked their cotton kurtas (INR 750 onwards), a cute little sleeveless jacket (INR 850, available in different sizes), and dress-palazzo pants in traditional patterns. Everything we liked was lightweight, ideal for hot summer days – and edgy enough to add something extra to your wardrobe. We also found bolts of Ikkat material starting at INR 250/metre, which you can buy and get stitched into an outfit through their in-house tailor.
As you may or may not know, ’90s trends are making a comeback – which means, so are scrunchies! We found six-packs of scrunchies for between INR 50 – 100 at New Gems Corner, also in Wonderland. Make them your new (old) summer accessory, and bring back those high ponytails!
Next door at Kumar Plaza, we spotted some bling Kolhapiris for INR 250/pair – perfect for jazzing up your day-look; and cute distressed-denim sneakers for INR 400, both from Pearl Novelties. We liked some of their other footwear too – platform sneakers, wedge heels, and printed flip-flops; so keep them in mind for your next shoe buys.
Just when we thought we were done, we found really cute mini-backpacks at Zinnia Bag Shop – a recent addition to Kumar Plaza. We picked a pretty summery floral one for INR 1095, and a brown plaid one for INR 1395. They’re sturdy, and we were told that they’re also waterproof. In case you’re not keen on a backpack, they also have wallets (from INR 495 onward), totes, and other handbags.
