What Makes It Awesome

Handcrafted, eco-friendly, and beautiful—TejalKeyur is a sustainable accessory brand from Kolhapur that upcycles old sarees and other waste fabrics into brand-new bags.

Founded by Tejal Deshpande, a textile designer from NID, the brand was born to minimise textile waste while celebrating the exquisite artistry of Indian sarees. Combining her love for fashion and sustainability, Tejal started by sourcing discarded sarees from various locations, including her hometown, textile waste recycling centres, thrift stores, and donations. These sarees may have slight imperfections or be outdated in design or style, making them ideal candidates for upcycling.

Once the sarees are collected, skilled artisans meticulously deconstruct them, preserving the intricate patterns and designs. To maintain ethical production practices, the brand only hires local artisans to contribute to the sustainable livelihoods of these talented individuals while fostering a sense of community empowerment. But what truly sets the brand apart is its commitment to offering unique designs that reflect the individuality of each saree. By embracing the characteristics of the original garment, every bag becomes a distinct work of art, telling its own story. The brand takes pride in the fact that no two bags are alike, providing customers with a truly one-of-a-kind fashion statement.

What we love most about the brand is its unique collection. There are beautiful tote bags with elephant motifs that can elevate any outfit. The cute sling bags with vivid landscapes look just as good on a saree or a dress. The stunning carry-on clutches with floral designs are perfect for all seasons and occasions.

The price range starts from INR 1,000 onwards.
