There is a new place on the block and everybody should know about it. Everything about Terrasinne is unique. It is Pune's first conscious-dining restaurant, with all its employees being specially-abled (they are deaf and mute). Located on FC Road, you need to order your food in sign language here.
That's not it. The place strictly follows the farm-to-plate mantra, where everything you eat is locally sourced from farmers. The brainchild of Sonam Kapse, an oncologist by profession, Terrasinne was conceived after she realised the need to empower the disabled community after working with several NGOs in rural Maharashtra. All the staff members come from the rural corners of the state and have been given a dignified platform to be self-reliant, After efficient training, they now help in smooth running of the restaurant.
Terrasinne has tied up with around 250 farmers across India and everything on the menu is made using fresh and locally-grown ingredients. The menu has a lot of Indian as well as world cuisine dishes and they offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. You can also enjoy breakfast all day long. Beside every dish name on the menu, there is a particular sign that you need to use while ordering.
The food is excellent here. We tried the galauti mushroom tacos, and we swear we will order it the next time too! The crispy kebab in healthy taco along with salad is something you must try. We also tried the veg bunny chow that had a super creamy sauce along with the spicy dan dan noodles. We ended our meal with the delicious apple streusel that came with ice cream. A meal for two will take you back by INR 1000.
