What Makes It Awesome

The reason the Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir Library has managed to stay an institution of good reads for the last 170 years is that it is open to change. From evolving with digitisation, to improving its services for its members, they're doing everything to remain relevant and efficient.

What we love most about them, however, is their book delivery service for senior citizens which ensures that their long-standing loyal customers never have to stop reading. This service sends a person from the library to a member's home every week with a collection of 70 to 80 books. The member can either take something from that, or order something of their liking. The library also sends their list of books purchased recently so that members can order accordingly.

The service can be availed by any senior citizen who is looking to get access to great books. For INR 120 a month a person gets a single book, for INR 150, two books and for INR 180, three.

Anything Else?

If you love stopping by at a library to read, you can visit the closest branch too. There are three others that have opened up around the city in Bibvewadi, Kothrud and Warje.
