Bibliophiles, we found yet another hidden gem for you - Bookspace, a quaint two-storey library, located at Silver Arch Apartments in Kothrud. Despite the size, {which is quite small}, we felt the place had an old-school neighbourhood library charm to it - walls done up with cartoons, shelves filled with good reads spanning across categories and the fragrance of old books that grasps you immediately as you step inside.
The library houses over 7,000 books in Marathi, English and Hindi, covering all possible verticals in fiction, history, crime and thriller, philosophy, self-help, business mythology, humour, health, wildlife, culture and sports. The membership is pretty straightforward and is bifurcated in four plans - monthly for INR 250, quarterly for INR 750, half-yearly for INR 1,000 and yearly for INR 1,750. A deposit of INR 250 is levied for all the plans save the yearly one. You can take one book at a time; extra charges will be applied if you borrow more. However, the good part is there are no late fees. Therefore, you can return the books when you're done reading!
