TIFA Working Studios is a multi-disciplinary creative space, intended to build a community that would explore and stretch the boundaries of what conventionally defines 'art'.

What Makes It Awesome

TIFA was started in October 2014 by siblings Trishla and Roshan Talera. Though it started out with more art-centric projects like a collaboration with local collective 'The Good Artist', TIFA has expanded their vision to include events like 'game days' (on Sundays), touring projects like Aqui Thami's Sister Library, theatrical performances, etc.

TIFA works to drive dialogue and be an epicentre for creative culture in Pune; as an Artist Residency, where young and old creators - both local and international - can come and work on their projects over longer periods of time; and as an alternate institute for creative education/functioning art school - to teach budding creatives how to impact culture directly through art, and how to create contemporary art which critiques our culture and social norms.

Three years on, TIFA is also planning a larger city-wide festival which will engage with people outside of the 'traditional confines of art' - so keep an ear to the ground for that.

What Could Be Better

For the uninitiated, engaging with a more experienced art-space can be intimidating - but TIFA hopes to move forward by being more of a 'public-facing institution'. We're told that they will be working towards making 'art' more accessible to people from all walks of life, working with diverse partners and collaborations.

Pro-Tip

TIFA will be launching their own Cafe by the end of August, and hosting a Meme special talk, panel discussion, and exhibition in September.
