The location of the first metro station in Pune has been decided to be built at Sant Tukaramnagar in Pimpri. According to reports, the metro is being designed by a Spanish company and the proposal has already been approved by the Maha Metro authorities.
The Sant Tukaramnagar will be built on Pune-Mumbai Highway near state transport bus stand at Vallabhnagar. The structure will have two levels with a foot over bridge to connect with sides of the highway. We hear the ticketing counter will be constructed on the second level.
What's more? A skywalk will be built to connect the metro station with bus rapid transit system {BRTS}, ST Depot and nearby parking lot.
