Established in 2007, Tribes India Pune on SB Road, near Bank Of Baroda, is a haven for rare tribal art; from handmade textiles to home decor, metal jewellery, stationery and more.

Tribes India is a brand under TRIFED that supports and gives a platform to skilled artisans from lesser-known tribal communities of Chattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and the North East. It’s a quaint little store with an impeccable collection of chemical-free handicrafts, derived out of natural resources like wood, clay, metal, cane and terracotta.

We loved the range of handcrafted brass decor featuring a vintage bottle opener, Dhokra castings in various shapes and sizes, tribal masks and decorative, starting at INR 50. Sourced all the way from Manipur and Rajasthan, we also checked out a couple of beautiful pottery and earthen wares, embroidered cane wallets, jute bags, wall hangings and colourful bed and pillow covers.

Get your ethnic look on point with Tribe India’s bagh-print cotton sarees, starting at INR 800, handwoven Assam tant for INR 2,800 and raw silk sarees, starting at INR 2,400. Perfect for work and summers, we also loved the long kurtis, artsy jackets and stoles out here. Finish the look with either beaded jhumkas or a metal statement neck-piece, starting at INR 100.

Anything Else?

If you love doing up your walls with all things pretty and bright, check out the collection of original Gond, Pattachitra, Warli and Thanka paintings at Tribes India, starting at INR 145.
