How often do you reach out for an aerated drink or canned juice when you are thirsty? We are guessing if not all of you but some of you surely have the habit of drinking a fizzy drink more often than you are supposed to. Won’t it be nice to have an alternative that is equally satisfying but less harmful for us?
In the quest for healthy drink options we came across Umami Brew. Started earlier in 2019 by Cyriac Thomas, Umami Brew produces their own Kombucha drinks. When Cyriac Thomas was travelling across Europe for over 100 days, he came across a chef and got discussing about energy drinks. The whole idea behind making their own kombucha was to provide a refreshing drink with health benefits without compromising on the taste. And that’s exactly what Umami Brew does. After testing and experimenting several recipes and flavours, currently Umami Brew has 8 flavours - kokum ginger, ginger, basil ginger, apple cinnamon, pineapple spice, pomegranate, green tea and their classic flavour. All these flavours are distinctive from each other and doesn’t taste bitter unlike other kombuchas.
The range for these bottles start at INR 90 -110 for a 200ml bottle and INR 100-120 for a 300ml bottle. You can get a monthly subscription which includes 20 bottles if you want a regular dose of their kombuchas. If not, you can also find them at several restaurants in Pune including Ground Up, Sorted Delicatessen, Sante Spa Cuisine, Piatto Dessert Studio, Hyatt and many more.
In the new year, you can expect more exciting flavours according to the seasons. They are also going to introduce different kinds of fermented drinks apart from kombucha as well. If you are looking to take a healthier route in life or are already in the process, we would recommend trying Umami Brew’s kombuchas.
