While food trucks are no more a rare sight for us, we never imagined to have come across a 'fashion truck' in Pune. Yes, that's right. A truck that sells clothing items for women and has an in-built trial room too!
Say hi to Fabulo, India's first ever fashion truck, started by IIT-Kharagpur alumnus, Ravi Yadav, who says that the idea came to him post a bad experience at online shopping.
Ravi realised that while online shopping comes very handy for people who don't have time to shop in stores, it continues to have negatives in terms of trial before purchase and exchange and return policies.
He decided to come up with a concept that not only allows door-to-door shopping convenience but also allows customers to try the clothes before they make a purchase. Solution? Enter: Fabulo, a shopping truck that makes lives simpler than ever.
But here's a bit of a reality check too. Fabulo, like most of the trucks in the city, needs permission to travel around and park at various spots in the city. And, that ain't a smooth game! Currently, Fabulo is parked at Baner-Balewadi road, near Madras Cafe, behind Medipoint Hospital, between 5.00 pm and 10.00 pm, every day. Sometimes on the weekends, the truck finds a new location, either in KP or Baner or opposite Balewadi High Street.
