What Makes It Awesome

While walking down the ever-hustling lanes of Centre Street, we accidentally came across Mohan Metals, a teeny-tiny antique store on the right-hand side of Bhopla Chowk in Camp. What immediately lured us in was the grand display outside the shop - a vintage gramophone, a Victoria Station analogue watch, gorgeous Turkish lamps and more.

From the inside, the store is a home decor haven; full of things that are handcrafted in brass and silver and looked splendidly rich and rare. While a number of things out here are quite expensive, we did manage to get our hands on some quirky stuff which were rather affordable. For instance, we absolutely loved the collection of colourful knobs that had intricate floral patterns on them. Starting at INR 50, these items are a great way to redecorate your cabinet without breaking the bank. Speaking of revamping existing furniture, you must also check out their assortment of brass knobs that start at INR 350.

Mohan Metals is known for their vintage collectables. So when you visit the store, expect being surrounded by classic pocket watches, ancient analogue wall clocks, Greek telescope, royal mirrors, beautiful lamps and a plethora of brass figurines. We particularly loved the heavy fish-shaped secret lock {for INR 250} and handmade brass glasses with animal carvings that cost about INR 800 a piece.

If you don't mind spending a little more, we recommend you check out other interesting stuff including a lotus diya stand, traditional khanjars or daggers, beautiful Buddha statues, embellished jewellery boxes and tribal wall hangings.
