What Did I Like?

Established in 1958, Golden Vada Pav on Mumbai-Pune highway is perhaps the most sought after street-food joint in Lonavala. There is no doubt about its popularity. At any given time, the place is crowded with patrons while the staff fries fresh vadas in front of them. That is a definite winner for us - a plate of scrumptious batata vadas, stuffed between two soft pavs, served with homemade chutney, for just INR 17.

So, what makes them outrageously famous? While taste is a factor, what really takes away the trophy is their chilli thecha, homemade green chutney mixed with assorted spices. The vada, on the other hand, is crispy, crunchy, and flavoursome; not too hot, not too spicy, just about perfect!

Barring this, we hear Golden Vada Pav's moong dal bhaji, jalebi, and dhokla are a must-try. So, on your next trip to Lonavala, make a pit-stop at this place and we guarantee you won't regret.

What Could Be Better?

Golden Vada Pav is a tiny, little joint and since it's always crowded, parking can be an issue.
